The day a cat destroyed a $1,200 carpet install in 30 seconds flat

I finished a beautiful plush carpet in a master bedroom last Tuesday, and the homeowners cat ran in, puked up a hairball, then immediately started scratching a corner loose. Has anyone else had a pet ruin a fresh install right in front of you?

Honestly, I see this differently. You're blaming the cat like it's some kind of malicious act, but it's a cat being a cat. If you knew pets were around, maybe a $1,200 plush carpet wasn't the smartest choice. My cousin's dog dug up her brand new sod in ten minutes flat, and she just laughed it off because that's what happens when you have animals and nice stuff together.
