That Tuesday everything just clicked into place
Had a day last spring where I was doing a simple living room in a ranch house over in Maplewood, and every cut was perfect on the first try. No wrestling with the seam roller, no fighting the power stretcher, just smooth sailing from 8 to 4. Anyone else ever have one of those days where the carpet gods just smile on you?

Man, was it a pale green textured Berber? Had almost the exact same thing happen last year on a Tuesday in a split level over in Clifton. The backing was laying flat, the seams melted together like butter, and I didn't even have to use my knee kicker once for the final stretch. Felt like I could've done the whole house in one day. Then I tried to do a tricky staircase the next Thursday and it was like I forgot how to even hold the damn tool. Those perfect days are magic when they happen though.

Man, that's exactly what my buddy Dave was telling me about last week! He had a similar perfect day with some light gray carpet in a ranch house out in West Chester. Said the seams just vanished, he didn't even need to use his power stretcher, just his knee kicker and it was like the carpet was begging to be laid down. Then he got called back to fix a carpet seam on a set of stairs two days later and he spent an hour fighting with it, completely humbled. Those days where everything clicks are rare but when they happen it's like winning the lottery in carpet installers world.
