Rant: Stop stretching carpet so tight it lifts the tack strips

I pulled up a job in Denver last Tuesday where the homeowner had tried DIY. They stretched that carpet so tight the tack strips were pulling up from the concrete. All because they thought tighter meant no wrinkles. I see this mistake constantly, especially with glue-down jobs where people forget the strip needs some give. Anybody else run into this or am I the only one fixing other people's over-stretching?

Yeah, @webb.stella, I haven't seen anyone say where they learned that trick either. For me, I just started pulling the tape tighter as I went and it helped a lot with the wrinkles. Experimenting on my own was the only way I figured it out.
