Old timer gave me a warning about glue failures...
Was talking to a guy named Jerry at the supply house on Old Farm Road last Tuesday. He told me he's seen three big jobs fail in the last year because installers skimped on the pressure-sensitive adhesive in high-moisture basements. It hit different because he showed me a photo of a whole living room floor that buckled... looked like a accordion. Any of you guys run into moisture issues with certain adhesives?

My buddy Mike had a similar thing happen in his rental property outside Columbus. Used a cheap adhesive on the laminate in the basement and six months later the edges were curling up so bad you could trip on them. He ended up having to rip the whole floor out and start over with a moisture-resistant glue.

Man that's exactly what happened to me with my kitchen floor last year... I thought I was saving a few bucks going with the cheap stuff from the hardware store and it looked fine for the first couple months then the edges just started peeling up like crazy. It was such a pain too because I had to move all the appliances out and the fridge was the worst part getting it back in without scratching the new floor. I ended up going with a moisture-resistant glue the second time around like you said and it's been solid for over a year now with zero issues. Lesson learned I guess but man it stung having to pay for the same job twice...
