Just ran the numbers on my last 50 carpet jobs and found a surprise
I tracked every hour on my last 50 residential jobs and discovered I'm spending 15% more time on stretching than on cutting, which goes against everything I learned from the old-timers 20 years ago - has anyone else noticed their time estimates are way off on the power stretcher side?

Wait, you're finding the opposite of what we were all taught too? I've been doing this for 15 years and just started tracking my time last month on 30 jobs. I was shocked to see my stretching time was way higher than I thought, especially on jobs with tricky layouts or lots of seams. The oldtimers always said the cut is where you make your money but the stretch is where you lose it, sounds like we're both proving that wrong.

Fifteen percent more time on stretching than cutting? That sounds completely backwards from what I learned.
