I finally stopped using my old knee kicker on berber carpet

A veteran installer in Kansas City told me my seams were puckering because the kicker was stretching the backing unevenly. I switched to a power stretcher for berber jobs last week and the difference is night and day. Anyone else have a tool they had to retire for specific carpet types?
