Got told my seams were 'tracking' by an old-timer at a supply house in Tacoma about five years back.

Maybe he was just trying to be helpful. Some of those old guys have seen stuff we haven't.

Yeah... the "seen stuff we haven't" part. My friend's grandpa was like that, always giving advice that seemed weird. He told her not to park under a specific tree at her work. She thought he was just being fussy... until a huge branch fell right on that spot during a storm. Her car would have been totaled. It made her stop and listen after that.
