Got schooled on a job in Scottsdale last month

Honestly, I was installing this thick berber in a huge living room and my seams kept showing, no matter how much I trimmed. The homeowner's dad, an old installer named Frank, came by and just watched for a minute. He told me to stop using my regular blade and switch to a fresh, sharp 60-degree knife for that pile. Tbh, it made the seam disappear like magic. What's your go-to blade for tricky carpets like that?

Man, that's a solid tip. I'd be lost without my hook blade for pulling tight around door jambs.

Remember that time I tried to use a regular blade for a tricky corner and just shredded the material? @the_caleb, your hook blade tip would have saved me a huge headache. I ended up with this jagged mess and had to redo the whole cut. Now I keep a hook blade in my kit for any tight spot.

Grab a hook blade for those tight spots, it saves so much time.
