A homeowner insisted I use a seam sealer I'd never heard of
I was putting in a big berber job in a house over in Spokane, and the guy kept pushing this specific brand of seam sealer he'd bought online. I figured it was some junk he saw on a TV ad. He was so sure about it I finally gave in just to keep the peace, you know? I'll be darned, that stuff dried clear and held like crazy, way better than my usual go-to. Has anyone else used 'SeamSure' and had a good run with it?

Totally get what lilyt90 said about eating your words. I had a lady hand me a tube of "FlexiBond" caulk once, looked like a toy. I almost tossed it but used it on her bathroom trim. Stuff never cracked, not even after two winters. You just never know with these off brands.

Man, I know that feeling. You just want to get the job done your way. Happened to me with some weird adhesive a client brought home. Totally ate my words when it worked. That SeamSure stuff sounds legit.

Oh man, I've been there too. I had this one old timer bring in some generic caulk from the dollar store and I just rolled my eyes. It ended up holding better than the expensive stuff I usually use, totally ate my words.
