Walked into a 1920s barn in Hastings last month and the old joinery stopped me cold
They used no nails on the whole frame, just mortise and tenon joints cut so tight you can't slide a sheet of paper in them. My grandpa learned the same way with a chisel and mallet, and now I watch guys run screws through everything in half the time. Anyone here still cutting joints by hand on a regular job, or is that mostly gone where you work?
