Spent 6 hours on a cabinet install in Columbus only to find the wall was 1 inch out of plumb
Last month I got hired to hang a set of upper cabinets in a kitchen in Columbus and I figured it would be a quick 2 hour job. I got the first cabinet up and level, then the second one left a gap at the top that kept getting wider. Turned out the wall was out about an inch from bottom to top, so I had to pull everything down and shim the whole run out with furring strips. Cost me an extra 6 hours and I ate the labor because I quoted it flat. How do you guys handle bowed walls on cabinet runs, do you scribe the stiles or just shim and caulk the gaps?
