I was cutting crown molding wrong for years and a picture in a magazine showed me

I was doing a job in a house in Tacoma and the owner had a picture of the same molding I was using, but the joints looked way cleaner. I finally saw they were cutting it flat on the saw table, not angled against the fence like I always did. Has anyone else made that switch and found it easier to get tight inside corners?

My uncle showed me that flat cut trick last year. Totally changed my game, my corners went from decent to perfect almost overnight.

Wait, what's the flat cut trick @shah.evan, my corners are a mess?

Totally feel you on this one @shah.evan. Same thing happened to me a few years back, I was wrestling with crown for months until a buddy showed me the flat cut method. It's night and day how much cleaner the joints come out. I used to spend forever fiddling with that angled fence approach and still got gaps that needed caulk. Now I can zip through inside corners and they fit tight right off the saw. Seriously, switching to flat cutting saved me so much headache and wasted material. It's one of those tricks that makes you wonder why you didn't try it sooner.
