Hot take: That framer who yelled at me for using a nail gun instead of hand nailing

Last summer on a site in Phoenix, an old framer watched me zip a wall together with my Hitachi nailer and went off about how hand nailing builds character. He made me pull every other nail and sink a 16d by hand, said power tools make us lazy. Frustrating as hell right now, but has anyone else run into a veteran who insists on pure manual methods for no good reason?

Heard a podcast recently where this guy was saying that sticking to the "how things have always been done" just stifles creativity, you know? It's worth trying new stuff even if it feels risky.
