Hit 10,000 board feet of lumber through my shop saw last month and I'm honestly shocked
I keep a rough tally in a notebook, nothing fancy, just a line every time I finish a job. Last month I added up the last 3 years and realized I ran through 10,000 board feet on my table saw alone. That's like a small forest. I never thought I'd hit that number working out of a one-man shop. Has anyone else tracked something like this and got surprised by the total?

Didn't you used to think tracking this stuff was a waste of time? I sure did. I always figured if you're working, you're working, and the numbers don't really matter. But after a couple years of doing the same thing, just tallying jobs in a beat up notebook, I hit a number that made me stop and think. Seeing 8,000 or whatever board feet on paper really changes your perspective on your own work. It made me realize I'd been underestimating how much material I actually move through. Kinda humbling, honestly.
