Had to choose between a brand new miter saw or a used one from a guy who smelled like sawdust and cologne

Picked the used one for $120 and it cut everything square until I realized the blade was on backwards... has anyone else done that and felt like a total goof?

The blade being on backwards is why it was cutting square. Forward blades actually cut wider on one side. So technically you had it right before you fixed it.

$120 is a steal for a decent saw, but @ray210, that's not how miter saw blades work - a backwards blade is just spinning the wrong way and can kick back or burn the wood.
