Had a brand new miter saw blade shatter on me yesterday
I was cutting some 2x4 pressure treated for a deck frame, nothing crazy, just a standard 45. Heard this awful bang and saw teeth flying across the garage. The blade just exploded, man. I mean, I've had blades get dull or chip, but this was a total failure. It was a Diablo 80 tooth I'd only had for maybe three weeks. Cleaned up the mess and had to run to the hardware store to finish the job, which put me two hours behind. Has anyone else had a new blade just give out like that? Wondering if it was a bad batch or something.

That's scary, glad you weren't hurt. Diablo blades are usually solid, so that definitely sounds like a factory defect. You should contact their customer service with the lot number.

Wait, an 80 tooth Diablo? Those are their expensive finish blades. That's wild it just let go like that. I've had cheaper blades wobble but never a full blowout.
Truth is I've been running the same Diablo 60 tooth for like two years now. No issues. Maybe yours had a hidden crack from shipping or something. I always check new blades for dings before mounting now.
Save the pieces if you can. Customer service might want a photo. Still, I'd be sour about losing that kind of money on a premium blade.
