Framing nailer jammed in the middle of a truss set
Took a job in Denver last Tuesday, 20 foot trusses going up on a garage. About the third one in, my nailer starts eating nails. Click, click, nothing. Had to pull the mag apart twice on the ladder while the crew just stood there waiting. Turns out a cheap coil had a bent nail wedged sideways. Swapped in a fresh strip and it ran fine, but we lost 45 minutes. Anyone else keep a spare nailer on site just for this crap?

Man, that's a classic. But honestly, a backup nailer is only half the fix. The real trick is checking the coil before you even load it. Give the strip a quick look over and bend it a little, if any nails look off, chunk it. Cheap coils are usually the problem, not the gun. Saved me more than a few ladder headaches.
