That career pivot from hourly to salary felt like a different job entirely

I worked retail for 3 years at a bookstore in Austin, always clocking in and out. Then I switched to an admin role at a tech company last spring, and the first week I totally forgot to track my hours. It took me about 2 months to stop feeling guilty for just leaving at 5, even if my work was done. Anyone else have that weird mental shift when you stop selling your time by the slice?

See I actually miss the hourly grind because at least every extra minute I worked meant extra money in my pocket...

Wait you actually miss the soul-crushing feeling of watching the clock tick by just to make 15 bucks more? That's wild man, I thought everyone hated that part.
