Spent $300 on a 'career accelerator' course that was just recycled blog posts
I saw an ad for a program promising to teach you how to become a project manager in three months. It cost me three hundred bucks upfront. The content was just stuff you could find for free online, and the 'mentor' was an automated email system. I feel pretty dumb for not checking reviews first. Has anyone found a legit course that actually helped them switch fields?

Ouch, that really stings. Those ads are everywhere and they make it all sound so easy. Don't beat yourself up, it happens to a lot of people. For project management, look into the Google certificate on Coursera, it's affordable and actually respected. Some community colleges also have good, real night classes for career changers.

My cousin got burned on a similar coding bootcamp ad last year. The Google cert @the_sage mentioned is solid, my friend finished it and actually landed an interview. Those free project management templates on YouTube channels like Adriana Girdler are a good place to start for no money. It's a real minefield out there.
