Realized I was emailing clients like it was 2009... a 19 year old set me straight
So I've been in real estate for a while and I always wrote these long, formal emails with like 4 paragraphs and a signature block. Last Tuesday I'm showing a duplex in Scranton and the buyer's agent, this kid named Marcus, pulls out his phone and reads my last email out loud like it's a eulogy. He said, "dude, nobody reads past the first 2 lines, you gotta text or just bullet point it." I checked my open rates in my CRM and sure enough, 11 out of 14 clients never clicked past the first screen. Since then I've cut everything to 3 short lines max and my response time went from 2 days to same afternoon. Has anyone else had a younger coworker casually expose their whole workflow?)
