I was wrong about online networking groups
I always thought those LinkedIn groups and Slack communities were a waste of time, but after joining a local tech workers group last fall, I got a solid lead on a project manager role within two weeks. A guy named Dave from the group pointed me to a company that was hiring and it worked out. Has anyone else found actual job leads through these groups?

Dave's a real one for that... man, I've been in a few Slack groups for like two years and nothing ever came from them until last month when some random dude posted about a gig his buddy was hiring for. Got an interview out of it, didn't land the job but still... it's all about who you know in those spaces, even if it feels like noise most days.
