I turned down a $6k raise to stay at a job I liked, and I'd do it again
Two years ago my old company in Columbus offered me a supervisor role with about $6k more a year, but the catch was 55 hour weeks and being on call every third weekend. I turned it down and stayed a regular tech making less money. My brother called me crazy for a month straight. Looking back, I kept my weekends, my kid's soccer games, and my sanity. Anyone here actually turn down more money on purpose and feel good about it?
