I thought networking events were a waste of time for 10 years. Then one changed my whole career path.
Back in 2018 I went to this small industry mixer in Tulsa just to get free pizza. Ended up talking to a guy who owned a small logistics company. He told me about a niche in hauling oversized loads that I'd never even considered. Within 6 months I was making 30% more than my old route. I still hate the schmoozing part but now I go to at least 2 events a year. Anyone else ever have a random conversation totally flip your job situation?
