I sank $800 into a coding bootcamp that didn't deliver what it promised
I signed up for a 12-week online coding bootcamp back in March because they said I'd be job-ready after... but the projects were all outdated and the career help was basically just a PDF. By week 8, I realized they were teaching stuff that nobody uses anymore in real dev jobs. Has anyone else gotten burned by one of these fast-track programs and found a better way to actually break into tech?

800 bucks for a PDF on career advice? Sounds like a steal lol. I've seen better coding knowledge from a free YouTube playlist and a Reddit thread. At least you learned the expensive lesson that "job-ready" is just a marketing buzzword, not a guarantee.

Oh man, I gotta disagree a bit here. Look, I've bought my share of overpriced junk too, but some of those paid career PDFs actually have stuff that free resources skip over. Like how to tailor your resume to get past the automated filters, or what specific keywords hiring managers actually look for. Sure, YouTube and Reddit have great coding tutorials, but they don't always teach you how to sell yourself in an interview or navigate the company politics once you're hired. Sometimes you're paying for the insider perspective from someone who's already done the grind, not just the information itself.
