Finally got a yes after 23 straight rejections

This week was a big change for me. I had been looking for a new job for about four months, and it felt like every day was the same. I would send out resumes, do a few video calls, and then get a polite email saying no. Last Tuesday, I had a final interview for a project manager role at a small tech company in Portland. The hiring manager called me two hours later and offered me the job right on the phone. I was so surprised I just sat there for a minute. The pay is $12,000 more than my old job, and they said I can work from home three days a week. It was the first good news I'd had in a long time, and it made all the previous 'no's feel worth it. For anyone else who's been stuck in a long job search, what was the moment that finally turned things around for you?

Hell yeah, that's awesome! Getting the offer right after the final interview must have been such a relief. The pay bump and hybrid schedule sound like a perfect win after all those rejections. What was the first thing you did to celebrate?

Man, reading "all the previous 'no's feel worth it" hit me. I remember that exact feeling when I finally landed my first big solo flooring contract after a ton of dead ends. You just sit there kinda stunned, like the weight is finally off. All those ignored emails and close calls suddenly make sense because they led to this one yes. It's a wild feeling.

riley595's question about celebrating is a good one, I'd love to know too. Sometimes the best celebration after a grind like that is just sitting with the quiet and letting it sink in for a day, not even planning anything big. Like, the win itself is the celebration after you've been running on empty for so long. That feeling of "okay, I can finally breathe" is probably the best part. It's like your brain finally gets to take a nap after being on alert for months.
