Feedback from a project manager in Denver changed how I write emails
A project manager I worked with told me my updates were too wordy and she had to dig for the key info. She said to put the single most important detail right in the subject line, then use bullet points below. I started doing that 3 months ago and my response rate went up a lot. Has anyone else tried a specific format that worked better for work communication?

Can bullet points fix my habit of writing novels about my lunch breaks?

Try using bullet points but with a strict limit - max three bullets per meal. I used to write paragraphs about my sad desk salad until I forced myself to list just the key details like "overcooked chicken" or "surprisingly good cookie." It still works for me because I get to hit the highlights without dragging anyone through a play by play of my sandwich assembly.
