Debate: The 5 email rule vs. calling first for job leads
I spent 3 months applying online with zero callbacks. Then I tried a trick a buddy in sales told me: find the hiring manager's direct email, send exactly 5 short follow ups spaced 3 days apart, then move on. I got 2 interviews out of 10 tries that way. But now I'm wondering if calling the office receptionist first might work better. What's your strategy for cutting through the online application black hole?

That "online application black hole" is just like standing in the wrong checkout line - everyone thinks it's random but it's Really not.

See the same thing happen with people who never check their spam folders and miss real emails.
