Can we talk about the guy who told me to stop chasing job titles?
I was grabbing coffee with my old professor from college last Tuesday, and he straight up said my focus on getting a senior title was keeping me from learning real skills. He pointed out I'd turned down a lateral move to a cool tiny startup because it didn't have manager in the name. Has anyone else made a career choice based on title instead of growth and regretted it later?

Respect that professor, he was looking out for you. I've seen too many people stall out chasing titles instead of actual growth.
