Tried a broker in Columbus after my cousin's guy quoted $1,900, and I'll stick with the small carrier
I've used big brokers twice and both times my car sat at a hub in Columbus for 6 days waiting on a driver. Last month I called a small three truck carrier out of Dayton instead and the owner picked my wagon up himself on a Tuesday morning, no deposit, $850 cash at delivery. Everyone says go with the big names for "protection" but I got a signed bill of lading and a real person on the phone the whole time. For a car that's 12 years old and drives fine, I don't see the point of paying extra for a call center. Has anyone else skipped the brokers and had a worse result?
