Trailer rental turned into a 3 day headache in Nashville

I needed to move a Chevy Silverado from my shop to a buyer about 200 miles out. Rented an open trailer from U-Haul on a Tuesday, showed up and the ramp was bent. They swapped me to another one, but that unit had worn tires and I blew one on I-40 within 40 minutes. Had to wait 4 hours for roadside, then pay $180 for a new tire they said was my fault. This whole trip that I thought would take 6 hours took me 2 full days. Has anyone else had a rental carrier fail mid-haul and how did you handle the charges?

Damn, that sucks. U-Haul always finds a way to make things worse.

Depends on what happened. If it's just a late pickup, that's a normal Tuesday for U-Haul. If the truck broke down halfway to your new place, sure, grab the pitchfork, but those stories are way rarer than people make them sound.
