The day I stopped trusting the auto transport broker's timeline

I booked a cross-country haul from Denver to Chicago and the broker swore it would take 5 days, but after 8 days of silence I called the driver directly and found out my car was sitting in a lot in Omaha waiting for a full truck. Turns out brokers often quote the ideal route, not the real one, so now I always ask for the driver's direct number and a live GPS link before signing anything. Has anyone else had a car sit for days because the broker didn't mention the consolidation stop?
