Question about oil change intervals, did I fall for the 3,000 mile thing for years?
I used to change my oil every 3,000 miles like clockwork because that's what my dad drilled into me growing up in Ohio. Then my mechanic pulled my owner's manual out and pointed at the maintenance table, which says 7,500 miles for normal driving on my Accord. I was honestly skeptical since it felt too long, but I ran it that way and did an oil test kit through Blackstone at 7,800 miles, and the report came back clean with plenty of life left. That one $35 test convinced me more than any forum argument ever could. So now I'm curious, how many of you still stick to 3k, or did you switch based on your manual like I did?
