Tried importing a Canva file into Figma for the first time last night...

I made this menu design in Canva for a local diner, but the client wanted me to tweak it in Figma. The import was a mess, all the text layers got messed up and half the fonts were missing. Has anyone found a clean way to move things between these two without losing your mind?

Have you tried exporting each element as an SVG instead of doing a straight Canva to Figma import? Splitting it up by component usually keeps the fonts and spacing way cleaner in my experience.

Yo, I'll be honest - I used to swear by just doing the straight PDF export and hoping for the best. Total disaster every time. But after watching a buddy walk me through the SVG route a few months ago, it completely changed how I see this whole Canva to Figma thing. He showed me how to break it down by layers and export each piece as its own SVG file, and suddenly the fonts and spacing actually stayed put. It's more work upfront but man does it save you from wanting to throw your laptop out the window later.
