Swapped Canva for Figma to make a wedding invite and it was a mess

I needed a wedding invite for my sister in law last week and figured Canva would be quick, but the alignment tools kept snapping things wrong. Tried Figma for the first time and got the layout perfect in half the time after watching a 5 minute tutorial on auto layout. Has anyone else found Figma way better for precise spacing even though Canva is easier to start?

Right? Dude, I tried making a flyer for my buddy's band in Figma once and it was like night and day. Canva kept fighting me on the margins, snapping things to weird spots I didnt want them at. Switched to Figma, set up a simple grid with auto layout and had the whole thing done in 20 minutes, perfectly spaced. Its way more logical for aligning text boxes and images how you actually want them. Canva is fine for a quick social post but anything with real layout needs real tools.

Wait, you spent time trying to make a wedding invite in Figma for your sister in law? That's wild dedication. I would've just given up and used a template on Canva lol
