Rant: That time a client told me my Figma prototype looked "too clean"

I was working with a small bakery in Austin last month on a new website layout. The owner said my Figma mockup looked too clean and asked if I could make it more "messy" like Canva. I spent 3 hours adding grain textures and off-kilter text to get the vibe they wanted.

Hold on though, sometimes clients don't have the right words for what they want and you gotta dig for it. Maybe they were trying to say your design felt too sterile and it was worth a few extra hours to get them a site they actually love, lol.

Ugh, come on. Three hours on grain textures for a bakery website? Sounds like they just didn't know what they wanted and made you chase a feeling they could have described in five minutes. I get wanting to make a client happy, but there's a difference between being flexible and letting them waste your time over what's basically a filter.
