Picked Canva for a quick team project... kind of regret it now

We had to put together 30 social media posts for a product launch last month at my warehouse job. I chose Canva because half the team doesn't know design tools and I thought it'd be faster. But after a week, the version history got all jumbled and someone accidentally deleted our brand kit. Now I'm wondering if spending a day teaching everyone Figma basics would have saved us the headache. Anyone else run into big collaboration problems with Canva for group projects?

People talk about version control like it's a minor thing but it's actually the biggest risk with those browser tools. The real problem isn't the features, it's that everyone thinks they're being helpful by jumping in and tweaking things without saying anything. You end up with three different color palettes and nobody knows who changed the logo. Figma has its own learning curve but at least you can see exactly who moved what and undo it without breaking the whole file.

YES. "Jumping in and tweaking things without saying anything" is EXACTLY the problem. I've seen teams where someone just "fixes" a button color or moves a text box because they thought it looked off, then three people later have to hunt through the history to figure out when the spacing got wrecked. It's even worse when there's no commit message or anything, so you're just guessing who did what. Figma's layer history and versioning isn't perfect but at least you can see who nudged something and revert it without having to redo the whole damn layout.
