My Canva to Figma switch for site mockups after 8 months of struggling

I've been doing all my website mockups in Canva since I started my landscaping business site last fall, but every time I tried to hand it off to my developer he'd send back these long emails about spacing and layers I couldn't see. Last week I finally sat down with a tutorial and rebuilt the same homepage in Figma, and the difference was night and day. Has anyone else hit that wall where Canva works fine for social posts but falls apart for anything with real structure, and did Figma actually change your workflow or just add more steps?
