Guy at the Denver coffee shop saw my Canva logo on a tote and asked if I designed it in Word
I was working on a client's brand kit at a cafe on South Broadway in Denver when a guy at the next table pointed at my laptop and asked if I built the logo in Microsoft Word. He wasn't being mean, I think he honestly didn't know design tools exist beyond the basics. The thing is, I had been leaning on Canva for 3 months because it is fast, and that comment stung enough that I opened Figma that same afternoon. Canva gets the job done for simple stuff, but it keeps you at a certain level of polish and you never quite get past it. Has anyone else had a stranger call out your work like that and change how you pick tools?
Someone asked if you made a logo in Word? Like, actual Microsoft Word? That is wild, I can't even picture what a Word logo would look like. Good on you for jumping into Figma though, that's a real upgrade.
