That moment I realized my sleeping pad was too thick for my tent
Tbh I thought buying the thickest sleeping pad meant the best comfort, but I learned the hard way last summer in Colorado. I got this 4-inch thick pad and my tent walls were rubbing against the fly, causing condensation to drip on my face all night. It wasn't until I swapped to a 2.5-inch pad that I stopped waking up damp and cold. How do you balance comfort without smashing your tent's footprint?

Oh man, I actually just read about this exact problem in a gear forum the other day! Someone was saying how a thick pad can push your tent walls out and mess with the whole waterproof setup. I've been using a 3-inch pad and it's been my sweet spot - comfortable but not so thick I'm rubbing against the fly.
