That $140 ultra-light tent from 2019 still haunts me

Bought one of those bargain two-person tents before a trip to Yellowstone, woke up with a puddle in my sleeping bag after a light drizzle. The zipper also stuck every single time, took me 20 minutes to get out in the morning. Anyone else get burned by cheap gear that looked fine on paper?

Man, that's rough... but are we really gonna pretend $140 is some crazy bargain price? I've seen decent tents around that same price that lasted years. Sounds more like you got a bad apple, not proof that cheap gear is always trash. Plus, a puddle in a light drizzle? That means the rainfly or floor was messed up from the start, not a price issue. Maybe check the reviews next time instead of just the specs on the box... just saying.
