Pro tip: A busted stove at camp makes you the bad joke fast
I bought some no-name camping stove online and it gave out while cooking for everyone. The whole group just stared at me as their meals got cold. I mean, you gotta read real reviews before you trust your trip to cheap gear. That awkward silence was worse than being hungry. Now I never skip checking what other campers say.

Yeah there's a whole podcast episode about this, how a single piece of bad gear can wreck the vibe for everyone. They said it's way worse in a group because you feel responsible for the whole meal falling apart. That quiet disappointment is brutal, makes you want to just pack up and go home. Never skimping on the stove again after hearing that.

Ugh, so true. I had a friend's cheap camp stove give out halfway through cooking for six of us. That sinking feeling when everyone is just standing there hungry is the worst.

Question if a broken stove really ruins the whole group vibe.
