My trusty coleman lantern finally gave up after 12 years

Last weekend in the Smokies, the mantles just crumbled when I lit it. No warning, just a puff and gone. It was my dad's old one, so I tried to fix it but the generator was shot. Ended up using my headlamp for the whole trip, which actually worked fine. Anyone else have a favorite piece of gear that died and you had to move on?
