My camp stove fuel pump gave out halfway through breakfast in Yosemite

Last Saturday morning I was trying to make coffee and oatmeal at our campsite in Yosemite Valley when the fuel pump on my old Coleman two-burner just stopped working. The flame went from steady blue to sputtering orange and then nothing. I spent about 20 minutes taking it apart with a multi-tool, cleaned out some gunk from the nozzle, and got it running again but now I'm worried it'll fail for good on the next trip. Has anyone had luck replacing those pumps or is it time to just buy a new stove?

Honestly, that's almost exactly what happened to me on a trip in Sequoia last year. My pump just died on day two, coffee and everything. I bought one of those $15 rebuild kits from Amazon, and it was a complete game changer. Took me maybe 15 minutes with a screwdriver to swap out the leather cup and the little check valve. That stove has been running like new ever since, and I'd trust it over any of the thin metal ones they sell now any day.

Hold up, I actually think those old Coleman stoves are tanks. A pump rebuild kit costs like $15 and takes 10 minutes. I'd fix it, way better than the new ones that feel kinda cheap. You already got it working again, that's a good sign right?

@oscarm24 Totally. Old ones are beasts.
