My $90 titanium spork snapped in half on a trip to the Sawtooths last week.

Man, a titanium spork broke? That's supposed to be the tough stuff. Did it snap right at the bowl part? I've seen that happen before when the metal gets too thin there. You might be able to get a replacement from the company if it's a known issue. What brand was it anyway?

Yeah, that bowl-to-handle joint is a real weak spot on a lot of them! Some brands even have a tiny weld there that can fail over time. Definitely check if it's a Snow Peak or something similar, as they've had batches with that exact flaw. A good photo of the break sent to customer service usually does the trick.

Eh, I'll play the other side here. That break probably happened because the guy was prying at something with it. Titanium handles lateral force like a champ but bend or snap if you twist it sideways. People treat these things like mini crowbars then blame the metal.
