Hit 40 nights in a tent last year and it surprised me
I wasn't trying to set any record. I just kept going out every couple weeks, sometimes just for a Friday night after work. When I added it up in December I was shocked. 40 nights. That's more than I slept in a tent in my whole 20s combined. Back then I was too busy with work and life. Now at 57 I'm making time for it. The gear is better sure but I think the real change is me. Anyone else notice they camp more as they get older?

Huh, 40 nights is a lot. I mean, maybe it's just me but that feels like a lot of planning and gear management for something that's supposed to be about relaxing. I get the whole reconnecting with nature thing but isn't sleeping on the ground for that many nights kind of a pain? I'd rather just take a couple big trips a year and keep the rest of my weekends free for, you know, a real bed.

Totally disagree, an inflatable pad makes all the difference.
