Guy at the trailhead in Bend saw my 15 year old stove and said the new ones boil faster, so I timed both
Was gearing up at the Tumalo Falls trailhead last Saturday and a guy pointed at my old whisperlite and said the new jetboil style stoves would boil in half the time. So I timed mine at home, 2 cups of 45 degree water took 4 minutes 10 seconds with the windscreen up. Pulled up the specs on a couple new canister stoves and they claim around 2 minutes but that is in a lab with no wind. What is everyone's real world boil time on canister stoves when it is actually breezy out there?

Mine jumps from 2 to almost 5 minutes in wind, so those lab numbers are total garbage.
