Appreciation post: My new habit of packing light led to a squirrel showdown
I decided to stop bringing extra clothes and just use my sleeping bag liner. Ended up wearing it like a cape when a curious squirrel wouldn't leave my camp. Now I check my gear list twice.

What kind of sleeping bag liner was it? Something about that crinkly sound from mine always seems to attract the boldest wildlife. I had a similar stare-down once, and now I wonder if shedding even more gear would just make me part of the food chain.

Honestly, I used to be all about having that extra layer just in case. But your squirrel cape story actually makes a lot of sense, might have to re-think my own pack.
