A small tear almost ruined my rain jacket
I didn't fix it before a hike and got soaked. Carry a repair kit, it's a game changer.

Sounds like that tiny tear had a real big opinion about your hike being too dry. Nothing teaches you a lesson like a full pack and soggy socks. That repair kit is a lifesaver for sure.

Funny how a small gear fail can turn into a core memory from a trip. Like that time my buddy's stove fizzled out in the rain, and we had to get creative with cold soaked meals (not ideal, but now we laugh about it). Those moments force you to slow down and problem-solve, which honestly beats just cruising on autopilot. A torn pack or wet socks becomes part of the story, not just a hassle. Plus, it makes you double-check your kit for next time, which is a win in the long run.

Kinda like how a ripped backpack seam ruins a hike, daily life has these small breakdowns that really teach us. A phone charger cable fraying makes you learn how to wrap it right next time. Or when a kitchen drawer gets stuck, you figure out how to fix it instead of just forcing it. Those moments break your routine and make you solve problems on the fly. It's all about adapting when things don't go as planned, which builds up your skills over time.
