A guy at a campground near Bend told me my $300 sleeping bag was overkill, and I still think he was wrong
I was at Tumalo State Park last month and this older guy in the next site saw my bag and told me I wasted my money, that a $60 bag from a big box store does the same thing. Thing is, it hit 28 degrees that night and he was up at 4am shivering while I slept fine, and I did not say a word about it. So here is my question, has anyone actually had a cheap bag hold up when it really gets cold, or is that just something people say to feel better about spending less?
