A climbing guide in Moab talked me into a $14 foam pad for my sleeping bag, he was dead on
He said my old inflatable would pop on the slickrock by the second night, and sure enough it deflated at 3am near the entrance to the Needles, so has anyone else ditched the fancy gear for the cheap foam just because someone local said so?

Read about a guy who said his inflatable froze solid in Canyonlands, foam just works.
